We have a wide range of spiral staircases for both external and internal environments. With its flexible design and architectural image, the spiral staircase can either melt into the background or be a breath-taking eye-catcher.

Steel Flooring Products spiral staircases consist of four main components, railings, handrail, stair treads and landings. All components are available in many different versions to suit your particular environment. Thanks to the small bottom area, the spiral staircase, as a rule, saves space and can be adjusted to your circumstances. Thanks to a simple design, it is also easy to assemble. Thanks to a large number of stock components, we can guarantee short delivery times.

Railing, Standard

Most suitable for industrial purposes but may also be used for evacuation staircases, where there are no children present.

Railing, Hoop

A stocked simple railing. Childproof with maximum opening 100 mm.

Railing, Round Bar

A railing focusing on form and design. Childproof with maximum opening 100 mm.

Railing, Intermediate Rail

Railing that can be provided with one to four steel bar intermediate rails. Not counted as childproof. 

Railing, Sheet Metal

Railing in solid or perforated metal. Childproof with maximum opening 100 mm.

Railing, Woven Wire Mesh

Railing in crenelated mesh plate. Childproof with maximum opening 100 mm.

Railing, Glass

Railing filled with glass infill for an extra finish. Childproof with maximum opening 100 mm.

Handrails

Normally, our handrails are manufactured from industrial stainless steel with brushed untreated finish, with diameter 42 mm. We also offer a wide range of wooden handrails, with diameter 50 mm. A wooden handrail is primarily used as an extra handrail. We can also equip our spiral staircases with inner handrails.

Stair Treads

Our stair treads are usually manufactured in grating or durbar plate in a hot dip galvanised finish, but they can also be manufactured in many different finishes. The choice is based on the staircase’s placing as well as taste and personal preferences. Please contact us for more information about different mesh widths and alternative finishes.

Landings

Steel Flooring Products’ step-off landings and intermediate landings are designed as square 90˚ landings with a radius or as a final step as standard. Different designs are made according to the customer’s needs. The square landing can also be extended to a platform/balcony.preferences. Surface Treatment

Our spiral staircases for outdoor use are hot dip galvanised as standard. In our own plant, the spiral staircases are surface treated to withstand great stress. The method provides a very robust protection against corrosion. Extra Accessories

To increase the safety and accessibility in the staircase, we offer a number of extra accessories to simplify these aspects.

Full-circle Protective Cage

Manufactured as standard in grating with heights 2245 and 4000 mm, but other heights can also be offered. The external radius of the cage is 110 mm larger than the radius of the staircase, and it is delivered in sections for bolting together, where the requisite bolting materials are enclosed. The cage is placed on the foundation. As standard, the door is equipped with ASSA 565 lock, latch bolt, but can also be provided with ASSA 410 hook lock, ASSA 722 with emergency evacuation fitting and ASSA 732 with emergency evacuation fitting. Door push on both sides. The cage door is opened with a key from the outside and knob from the inside.

Protective Cage, Stair Enclosure

Protective cages in the grating plate can also be made higher than the standard height and follow the full height of the staircase. The external radius of the cage is 130 mm larger than the radius of the staircase. As standard, the door is equipped with ASSA 565 lock, latch bolt, but can also be provided with ASSA 410 hook lock, ASSA 722 with emergency evacuation fitting and ASSA 732 with emergency evacuation fitting. Another suitable material for staircase enclosure is perforated sheet metal, which is available in a number of different standard patterns. Customised patterns can also be provided.

Quarter-circle Protective Cage

The cage is manufactured as standard using grating plate. The height is 2,250 mm. The door frame screws to the staircase’s central tube and fastens to the ground foundation.  The door is equipped with a ASSA 565 lock, latch bolt lock. Door push on both sides. The cage door is opened with a key from the outside and knob from the inside.

Contrast Marking

The first stair tread of each flight, as well as the front edge of landings, can be provided with contrast marking. The design differs depending on the type of stair tread. 

Arch Railing

We offer several different types of arch railings. Fitting is normally by top installation or side installation, and it is manufactured with a height of 1100 mm.

Gates

To increase the safety of the spiral staircase, a gate can be fitted at the start and finish of the spiral staircase. The gate hinges are mounted on the centre tube and the lock fittings are fitted to the stair railing. The lock is spring loaded and is so firm that it cannot be opened by small children.
